The betas have been generally well-received, and with each one serving as a stress test for the servers, Blizzard has said it's "confident" that the full launch will be a relatively smooth affair. While these responses definitely seem dramatic, it is true that Blizzard's pre-release marketing campaign has been running on all 12 cylinders for several months now, with three open beta weekends, not to mention countless trailers and developer livestreams, in the run-up to the June launch. "I CANNOT WAIT! Literally lost motivation to play every other game because I'm just waiting for this to come out," and on and on it goes. That's an inevitability regardless of how good the game is."This is going to be the longest week wait of my life," echoes another comment. It does not always make financial sense to scale up server infrastructure at launch when most of the player base will bleed away within weeks. We can always hope the experience will be improved this time around, however unlikely. There is still some concern involving Blizzard's ability to smoothly launch games, considering Diablo III's launch and the latest World of Warcraft expansion were both rife with login issues for players. There's still no word on if there will be cows, though. That's almost 23 years to the day since Diablo first hit store shelves back in June of 2000 and a little over 10 years since Diablo III launched.
